Due to the impact of global financial crises and economic recession, the increase rate of Finland-China trade declined sharply in 2008. According to Finnish Customs statistics, bilateral trade in 2008 totaled 6.42 billion Euro, with an annual decrease of 3%. China’s export to Finland amounted to 4.36 billion Euro, declined by 2%, and import stood at 2.06 billion Euro, down 5%. But China exceeded UK and became Finland’s 4th largest trading partner world wide and Finland is still the largest trade partner of China among all Nordic countries.
