According to relevant statistics of MOFOM, the growth rate of China’s accommodation and catering market in the first quarter of this year slowed slightly compared with the same period of last year, and the total retail sales reached 438.29 billion yuan, up 18.9％ year-on-year, 4.7 percentage points lower than that in the same period last year and 3.9 percentage points higher than the growth range of the total retail sales of social consumer goods, accounting for 14.9％ of the total retail sales of social consumer goods of the same period, and as a result, the total consumer goods retail sales increased by 2.72 percentage points. In March, the total retail sales of the accommodation and catering market reached 136.7 billion yuan, up 18.7％ year-on-year.
The accumulated turnover of the accommodation and catering enterprises in the country above the designated size reached 117.72 billion yuan, up 16.6% year-on-year, with their growth rate 2.3 percentage points lower than the country’s total over the same period, accounting for 26.9% of the country’s total, 0.4 percentage points lower than the same period of last year.
