On April 26, Expo Central China 2009 officially opened in Hefei Anhui province. 16,000 travelling merchants gathered in Hefei to jointly consult how to seize the "opportunity" of central China to promote the rise of Central China.
Expo Central China 2009 themed with "Innovation, Cooperation, Win-Win and Rise" held 12 major activities including Central China Business Summit, the 6 Central Provincial Government Leaders Meet with Multinational Companies, Seminar on Outsourcing Policies, and Explanation Meeting for Policies of Invigorating Commodity Circulation and Expanding Consumption in three days. Meanwhile, distinguished guests and travelling merchants from all walks of life also conducted deep exchanges in multiple special activities including the Matching Meeting of outsource, Mayor Forum on Sustainable Development, International Financial Cooperation Forum, International Cartoon Industrial Summit Forum, Transnational Purchasing Meeting, and Sino-Germany Agricultural Product Industrial Chain Construction Summit.
Approved by the State Council, Expo Central China was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Taxation, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the National Tourism Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, National Federation of Industry and Commerce, China Federation of Industrial Economics and the People's Governments of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan. The first, second and third Central China Expos were respectively held in September 2006, April 2007 and April 2008 in Changsha, Hunan, Zhengzhou, Henan and Wuhan Hubei, which 300 Fortune 500 enterprises and large multinationals as well as more than 160 domestic Top 500 enterprises were invited to participate in.
