| Demand: Tents for quake-stricken areas in China are in urgent need |

An earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County in southwestern China and inflicted tremendous losses. A total of 65,080 people have been confirmed dead, 360,058 injured and 23,150 missing and 45,509,241 people affected until May 26.
Since a total of 15 million rooms were destroyed or damaged in the quake and a large number of people are now in desperate need of shelter, the biggest difficulty in resettling the quake-affected residents is the lack of tents.
All international circles are deeply concerned with latest relief efforts in China. We appeal for support and assistance from Finnish business circles as well. If you are willing to offer your kind assistance to the quake-affected people in China, please contact the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of Chinese Embassy in Finland.
